All the buildings in Kallio district in Helsinki 3d printed and buildings extruded based on their estimated height. Final print about 10 cm x 7 cm. Data transformed from a shapefile to a DEM raster which was then transformed into a printable STL file.
Not the prettiest map ever, but with this visualization the journey was more important than the destination.
